Will be interesting to see what the do with the goaltending. They have the cap space to buyout both goalies if they really wanted to. I'd imagine they will try their best to trade one of them before possibly buying them out. Wonder if MAF would mind going to Dallas? Seems wild to spend around 12-15 million on the cap for below average goaltending, but they could retain salary on Niemi if he wants to back up Murray. Anyway I am trailing off now....I do think a Mason reunion would be cool

Very possible that they do a buy out on one of their goaltenders, and it wouldn't surprise me to see flurey or bishop goto Dallas

Years ago, in the weeks before the Flyers acquired Mason from the Blue Jackets and they were doing their due diligence, Hitchcock told the organization that he though Mason could get his career back on track and that he always thought during their time together in Columbus that Mason was one of the more gifted goalies he'd had on his team during his coaching career.

Hexy might not be able to resign Mason now.

Dallas might be a-calling

Hitch's system made Brian Elliott look like an all star. Your goaltending will be fine. Seguin however might put up a little less points, but you'll make the playoffs and our lives hell. Hitch is a hell of coach should have never been fired.

Very stoked to have Hitch back. He has said all the right things in the last few days. He knows he's tough on players, but will ask his assistants to keep him in check.

I'm sure part of the players aren't looking forward to it, but he'll get results.
Modano more or less said Hitch made his life hell, but looking back he knows it was the best thing for him.

He won't be coaching the very conservative D first style he did in the 90s but it'll be more safe than Lindy's run and gun style that was admittedly fun for a year.

Dallas still gets hell for being a non traditional market, but having a braintrust like Nill, Lites, and now Hitch back is a great feeling. Short of getting Babcock I'm not sure they could have made a better hire. This is a great fit for the Stars and great for Hitch to wrap up his coaching days here.

Hitch kept the Blues from growing. He has a two year shelf life but often stays well past that time.
